Apologetics is a fancy word that means "defense." In Christian vernacular, it is the discipline of giving a defense for the faith. It is the presentation of evidence and arguments for the purpose of allowing non-believers to see the validity of Christianity, and so place their faith in Jesus.
Paul uses the word "apologia" in 1 Peter 3:15 when he urges believers to "in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect."
This page will function as a resource guide for you to be able to equip yourself to always be prepared to make a defense for a reason for the hope that is in you.

BOOKS
I believe the best place to start your pursuit of being able to defend your faith is with the book "I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist" by Norm Geisler and Frank Turek. It gives detailed evidence in an organized fashion, yet it is written in such a way that young and old, novices and experts, less-educated and super-educated alike can understand and apply its contents. I have even used this book as the text book for a course on Apologetics with 11th graders at our Christian school, and it has been phenomenal, with many students coming to faith in Christ.
"Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis is one of the greatest literary works of all time. Although Lewis is most known in pop culture for writing The Chronicles of Narnia, his best known work is actually Mere Christianity. It is a time-honored classic, from which many people have come to faith in Jesus for many years. "Bringing together Lewis’ legendary broadcast talks during WWII from his three previous books, Mere Christianity provides an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear this powerful apologetic for the Christian faith."
