Molten Lava Cakes

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • 2 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • 1¼ stick butter
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 eggs yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 425ºF.
  2. Grease 6 (6-ounce) custard cups.
  3. Melt chocolate and butter in a double boiler.
  4. Add the flour and sugar to chocolate mixture.
  5. Stir in the eggs and yolks until smooth.
  6. Stir in vanilla.
  7. Divide batter evenly among the custard cups and place in oven.
  8. Bake for 13 minutes. The edges should be firm but the center will be runny.
  9. Run a knife around the edges to loosen and invert onto dessert plates.
  10. Sift powdered sugar over top for looks.
  11. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for pure awesomeness!

I bet you never knew that the lava inside the cakes was just from the cake not being cooked all the way through!! I feel cheated, but my taste buds don't!
